Seed collection is a major activity of Silviculture Wing. There is a need to collect quality seeds of different species from earmarked Seed Production Areas to make these seeds available to different forest divisions, for better quality of seedlings. Currently, 31 SPA’s have been established and seeds are being collected from them. All SPA’s are being maintained by concerned forest division. Some experiments were done on storage and viability of seeds and they are documented in annual progress report of the wing from time to time.
